Gapforce places the highest emphasis on safety. We carry out thorough risk assessments in each country. We consider all the potential dangers and hazards that we may encounter in our remote environments. We also abide by the governing guidelines of the Year Out Group (YOG), Expedition Providers Association (EPA) and the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) and use BSi8848 to ensure preventative measures in the field. Furthermore, all our staff on the ground have 24-7 contact with Gapforce HQ in London through satellite phones which means that in case of a serious incident, we can facilitate an immediate evacuation.

All of Gapforce's core projects employ UK staff. This highlights our emphasis on safety and security. These experienced members of our team form the platform for the expeditions and help the participants adjust to the new surroundings. The staff responsibilities include airport pick up, food purchases, regular check ups, liaising with local contacts etc.
